Expert Level Repair
I have repaired double reeds and clarinets in the South Texas / San Antonio region for 10 years. My clients include some of the largest school districts in the San Antonio and Austin areas.
I regularly repair for members of the San Antonio Symphony and am also proud to repair for members of the 323rd US Army MEDCOM Band and USAF Band of the West.
I have had clients from as far north as Washington State and as far south as Mexico City.
When I am not wrangling oboes, bassoons and clarinets, I run/oversee IT [Information Technology] for the Texas Bandmasters Association.
My official title at TBA is "Director of Information Technology" and I have held that senior staff position for 12 conventions / 10 years on payroll.
I am a commissioned Notary Public for the State of Texas (TERM OF OFFICE: 01/23/2018 - 01/23/2022 NOTARY ID# 13141869-7).
I am also an FCC Licensed Technician Class "Ham" radio operator. My callsign is KF5VPP.
I stand behind my work and my product 110%.
Because of that, ALL of my repairs (unless agreed upon otherwise) carry a 30 day warranty. All of my re-pads carry a 6 month warranty. It's my name and reputation on all repairs that leave the shop. If you are not 100% satisfied with any work that I have done for you -- please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do my very best to make it right.
Consulting / Clinicing / Lessons
I love sharing the knowledge I've acquired over 9+ years of repairing woodwinds.
In July 2016, I had the privilege of presenting a repair clinic to 40+ band directors at the UTSA Beginning Band Pedagogy Workshop for Directors.
If you have an interest in exploring instrument repair as a career option, would like me to present at your event, or require consulting on matters regarding instrument repair -- please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am also happy to provide repair lessons for those that are interested. Call, text or email me for information about lodging and daily/weekly rates.
