Kim and I had a really pleasant weekend and tried our best to divide our free time between motorcycling and enjoying some fall related events in nearby Hondo, Texas. We've driven past the corn 'maize' in Hondo plenty of times over the years and never gave it a second thought so we actually decided to pick up a couple of tickets and check it out with my mom. It's a pretty chill place with a lot of tasty things to eat, drink and live music to enjoy (country of course). With me working at home all week, any trip that lets me change up the scenery is much appreciated.
We definitely enjoyed putting some miles on the V-Strom and discovered some great Farm To Market roads just outside of Rio Medina, Texas (just southwest of the Mico / Medina Lake residential areas). The weather cooperated for most of the morning but did get a bit warm so we left the bike at home when we headed out to the Graff ranch on Saturday afternoon.
Fall is shaping up to be fairly enjoyable.
